Milone is the Island and NYC PSAL indoor record holder in the pole vault, but she had been having problems recently. Two weeks ago, she could only negotiate six feet, three feet below her indoor best.

Last week, she improved slightly, but was still having trouble.

"I got my steps right this week," said Milone, who upped her Island and city PSAL record to a gold-medal 9-6 performance.
