St. Anthony's Walter Henning Jr., who was named the meet's most outstanding field athlete. The North Carolina-bound senior set a CHSAA and meet record in the shot put (62 feet, 9 inches). He broke the record of 62-4 set by Henry Korn of Stepinac (Westchester) in 1958. He also took first in the weight throw (83-6.5) winning the event by 23 + feet.
