Craig Froys just missed a meet record by one second at the Foot Locker NE Regional Cross Country Championships. Forys posted the fastest time for a New Jersey runner on the course at Van Cortlandt Park and the third-fastest time in course history over the 3.1-mile layout. He also ended a long drought by becoming New Jersey's first regional boys or girls champion since Bob Keino of Ridgewood in 1993. He is the eighth New Jersey boys champion.
